Finale by Stephanie Garber

I am going to wrap up this trilogy of reviews with a short and sweet review. Finale is the third book in the Caraval series by Stephanie Garber. I loved it! I love Caraval, the characters, the magic and the world.

I started this series in 2019 and took some time reading the second and third books, but I totally wish I read them sooner. I could not recommend this series more for lovers of fantasy, magic and trickery!

Finale picks up right where Legendary - its predecessor - left off. There is a lot more history and insight given into the Fates and how their involvement in the past and present has shaped the magical world of Caraval. Of course, the iconic love triangle between Tella, Jacks and Legend is in full spirit. However, I didn’t enjoy that Tella’s bold and strong character was reduced to being a lovestruck damsel in this book. I was so glad that Scarlett and Julian were featured more in this book – their love and story excited me most about this series and another love triangle was created with the re-addition of the Count.

This book was well-structured in the manner which the point of views switched between the two female protagonists and the addition of plot-twists and the Fates. Although finishing Finale meant that I am finishing this beautiful series, I am really excited as the beloved villain, Jacks – is getting his own book spin-off in Garber's new trilogy Once Upon a Broken Heart.

I am keen to read more from Stephanie Garber as she brings her writing to life through the creation of her characters and storylines! The Caraval series has truly become my absolute favourite series of all time and I will cherish my signed collection for years to come.
