Midwinter Murder by Agatha Christie

Featuring some of Agatha Christie's much-loved characters, Midwinter Murder was a delightful collection of short murder mystery stories that got me sleuthing and solving throughout.
It's a great novel to curl up with a warm cup of hot chocolate and a blanket as winter creeps away.

Much like Agatha Christie's novels, each of these short stories had so much suspense and mystery that I couldn't for the life of me work out the identity of the murderer until it was revealed.

Christie's writing is just so clever in each of the twelve short stories in this collection. She introduces an array of characters, surrounds them with suspense and creates a motive for each of them and then ties the mystery up in a neat little bow within the space of twenty pages.

Each time I read something from Christie, I wonder how brilliant and twisted her mind must have been to write such intricate, detailed and mystical crimes. She never ceases to amaze me. I love this collection as it includes stories that were originally published in magazines in the UK and never officially published in a book or overseas.

This lovely collection from the Queen of Crime is classic, cosy and charming. I would highly recommend Midwinter Murder to a newcomer of Christie's stories as an introduction to her characters and writing.
